Sul piano più specificamente clinico, da anni l'ipnosi is used in the treatment of sleep disorders (insomnia), attention and control of pain (both acute and chronic), not to mention its use in a wide range of psychological disorders and psychopathology. Over the past twenty years research and observations on the physiological aspects of emotions have led to wider use of hypnosis in the field of gastrointestinal disorders, with particular reference to the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome that is now available in a diverse literature. b) Therapy hypnotic short times the resolution of the symptoms are particularly effective in the treatment of chronic idiopathic (eg. proctalgia) or in the treatment of symptoms resistant to medical and pharmacological therapies, both in the absence of indications for surgical treatment, both in the postoperative recurrence (eg. Many cases of constipation or fecal incontinence). The patients had a hypnotherapy short (from 1 month to 6 months)-type symptoms, which aims to control and containment of the pain by raising the threshold of perception, the techniques employed have been the development of mental images in a state of hypnosis Deep and teaching dell'autoipnosi. In the case of patients treated for constipation, was similarly applied a short hypnotic psychotherapy aimed mainly to the recognition and control of underlying anxiety by using relaxation techniques in semi-alert state of hypnosis and deep.
